On October 20, 2025, Anthropic introduced Claude Code on the web:
- coding tasks run on Anthropic-managed cloud infrastructure

And because Claude Code on the web already gives you Anthropic-managed execution, this becomes useful even when you do not want that work tied to one local terminal session.
Where Teams Should Be Careful
This workflow is promising, but you should still keep your engineering standards high.
- Auto-fix is only as good as the signals coming from your tests and CI.
- Weak CI means Claude can confidently preserve bad behavior.
- Auto-merge is only safe if your branch protections and review rules are already disciplined.
- Cloud execution reduces local friction, but it increases the importance of repo access control and environment scoping.
In other words, Claude is shrinking the operational gap between "code written" and "PR landed," but your process still determines whether that is safe.
